At Amber Langerud Photography, senior sessions are built around personality, comfort, and intention.

Here’s how this works.

We start with a questionnaire that gives us guidance and insights into your style preferences.

You’ll tell me what feels like you, what doesn't, and any special notes of interest.

Then we build your session around that.

When you arrive, we fine tune the plan, and I help you pair outfits with the perfect locations.

Oh and you never need to worry about what to do with your hands.

Thoughtful planning. Timeless editing.

Sessions at the farm will leverage locations and light that match your vision, style, and outfits. No need to know what exactly you want, but I always love to incorporate your ideas or spaces that stand out to you. 

After your session, I edit your images in my signature style, clean, natural, and bright in all the right places.

Because these should look just as good in ten years as they do today.

Variety, Done Intentionally

We use locations, outfits, light, posing, and movement to create a range of images in your gallery.

Outfits are paired thoughtfully with each setting, when and where the light is best. We move between guided portraits and more natural movement.

We'll curate a mix of classic, relaxed, and bold.

By the end, you’ll have a gallery filled with images that reflect different sides of you.

So, in summary, no two senior sessions look exactly the same, even when taken in the same or similar locations.

Your questionnaire, style recap, and the type of outfits you brought with you guide me into creating a session unique to you. 

You don’t need to know how to pose.
You don’t need a Pinterest-perfect plan.

That’s my job.

You just bring yourself.

I have horses, can I include them in my session?

I’ve worked with horses for years and understand how to photograph them safely and beautifully. If they’re part of your life, they absolutely belong in your senior photos.

What if I want my session somewhere else?

Most senior sessions take place at the farm because of the variety and light available here, but I’m happy to travel to a meaningful location, downtown Detroit Lakes, or the beach.

Can I Bring a Friend to my session?

Yes. Having someone there can help you feel more relaxed and confident. If there’s time at the end, we can grab a few quick photos of the two of you together.
