Country & Gold Sequin Styled Portrait Session near Audubon, MN | Dorothy
Do you ever have one of those days where you have so much to say but just cannot seem to be able to write it out? That is how I am feeling today. There is so much I want to tell you about Dorothy, how awesome she is, how much I am in love with this gold backdrop from Drop it Modern, spring, styling shoots and the list goes on. But how do I say all of this without sounding cliche - without it being another 'Dorothy and I had a blast creating these images', which of course we did, but that is pretty much true for every session.
Maybe I will start here. I came to Dorothy with an idea, because I want my photos to be different. I want to bring an added element beyond just the location, posing and light. Those are all wonderful things, but those images that just grab your attention, they almost always have something a little extra, something more to draw you in, something that just begs to to look a little closer. And beyond excellent photography I have decided that it must be excellent styling. Per my very vague request Dorothy brought along some props, kind of an awesome random assortment (including flowers because it was her birthday the day before, to the friends who bought Dorothy flowers, thank you, you made my day!!).
We put together some different ideas with what would look good together and with what backdrop and then just went out and started experimenting. Seriously a photographer's dream, especially when you are working with such a kind soul like Dorothy who is almost literally up for anything and has a smile of gold and tons of great ideas to add to the mix.
So that's it, a little story behind the session. Now check out the images for yourself. I don't think you will be disappointed, especially with the couple black and white images sprinkled in. Dorothy rocks black and white!!
Want to book a session like this for yourself?
